Dragon Innovation Partnership’s new high flyers

The Dragon Innovation Partnership has this month taken on two new Project Officers, based at Trinity University College.

Sarah Kelley and Duncan Gardner have a wealth of experience to bring to the Partnership – a collaboration between Swansea Metropolitan University, Swansea University and Trinity University College, that aims to put organisations in touch with experts from the three Universities to discuss their development, support and learning needs.

The Project Officer roles will ensure that Trinity University College is participating in business and community engagement activity to it’s best potential – by creating links with academic staff and local community groups and individuals, organising networking events to showcase the services that the three partners offer, and engaging with employers to develop the Partnership’s work-based learning offering.

Sarah, a perfect fit for the role with previous higher education experience as a project officer, now also lectures in Community Development on a part-time basis at Trinity. She said, “As a part-time member of academic staff and having previously worked for PLANED, the Pembrokeshire Local Action Network for Enterprise and Development, I am well placed to communicate with partners both internally in the University, and externally with local businesses and organisations.”

Duncan, previously a National Director for Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for the Environmental and Land-based Sector, and a former lecturer, also has copious amounts of business acumen and experience to enhance the Dragon Innovation Partnership’s offering.

Duncan said, “I’ll bring education and business experience to my new role, as well as enthusiasm, commitment, strategic vision and good humour.

“Any public, private or voluntary businesses or organisations with interests in the creative, sports or tourism sectors who would like to get involved with the Partnership, for consultancy, skills development opportunities or knowledge transfer activities should feel free to contact us to discuss what the Partnership can do for them.”

The Project Officers are now available to be contacted to help with any business queries. To reach Sarah Kelley call 01267 676729 or email s.kelley@trinity-cm.ac.uk, or if you would like to speak to Duncan call 01267 676861 or email duncan.gardner@trinity-cm.ac.uk
