Develop your potential on the Bridging Innovation Programme

Nominations and applications are invited from early stage research academics wishing to explore future opportunities available to them from their research.


PhD students & Research Associates are eligible to apply for the programme.  There are only 20 EPSRC funded places available, priority will be given to EPSRC funded PHD, MRES or Research Associates but other exceptional candidates will be considered.


Programme Benefits 

  • Knowledge of the mechanism through which research can be channelled into potential commercial opportunities.
  • A practical understanding of how to develop opportunities whilst protecting your own and the University’s rights.
  • Enhanced personal research credibility within both the academic and private sector
  • An appreciation of how engagement with private sector funding can provide the mechanism for wealth creation and for furthering research ambitions.


Programme Dates


Delivery will be in the form of four full day workshops on 28th May,  4th June,  11th June and  18th June. Lunch and refreshments will be provided


How to Apply


Application forms are available, from the Department of Research & Innovation reception (Room 706 and Room 702), or the School and Departmental Receptions. Your supervisor should approve your application.
