Recognition for Swansea's success
EPSRC Strategic Relationship
Swansea University’s impressive track record in attracting funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has resulted in the University being designated as having a strategic relationships with the Research Council.
Swansea is one of eleven universities who between them hold 30% of the Research Council's funding portfolio.
The relationship provides a structured basis for discussions between the EPSRC and universities, and can help to identify further collaborative projects.
Professor Ian Cluckie, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Science and Engineering), said: “The recognition of Swansea’s success in attracting significant amounts of research funding from the EPSRC highlights the University’s flourishing international research profile.
“We will engage even more closely with the Research Council to support the development of
strategies that will have an impact on the way engineering and physical sciences research is funded in the years to come.
“Above all, this is testimony to the determination and hard work of staff at Swansea University. It is their commitment to producing internationally excellent and world-class research that
has resulted in this recognition of the University as one of the leading institutions attracting EPSRC support."
