Technology Strategy Board awards highest grade possible to Swansea University and SPTS Technologies Ltd partnership

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Swansea University and SPTS Technologies Ltd resulted in the Technology Strategy Board awarding the partnership a certificate of excellence and awarding the highest grade of “Outstanding” by the KTP Grading Panel for its achievement in meeting KTP Objectives.

The highly successful KTP which ran between June 2010 and December 2013 was supported by the Dragon Innovation Partnership's Dave Guite, Business Development Officer.  The partnership worked together to:

'Develop Atomic Layer Deposition and nano structure growth process capability on a plasma enhanced deposition system utilising Liquid Delivery system’

and resulted in the company obtaining TSB funding for a project involving SPTS Ltd, Swansea University and Cardiff University.

Although this initial KTP funding has come to an end, the collaboration between SPTS and Swansea University has continued and has expanded to include researchers from Cardiff University, with a view to fully commercialise this technology.  The KTP resulted in the company obtaining further funding for a project involving SPTS, Swansea University and Cardiff University

Support from the Dragon Innovation Partnership was provided by Dave Guite throughout the lifetime of the KTP.  Although this initial KTP funding has come to an end, the collaboration between SPTS and Swansea University has continued and expanded to include researchers from Cardiff University, with a view to fully commercialise this technology.
