The Observer/The Guardian reported comment from Professor Andy Parrott, Department of Psychology, College of Human and Health Sciences,in an article on how some scientists now believe psychedelics are an effective treatment for depression and anxiety,
Professor Parrot states his research has found “the beneficial effects are pseudo phenomena, and they’re almost invariably outweighed by negative effects”.
“Twenty years ago I thought that many recreational drugs were beneficial, but the more research I’ve done, the more I’ve found that the beneficial effects are pseudo phenomena, and they’re almost invariably outweighed by negative effects,” says Andrew Parrott
