Title: Cooperation, Altruism, Game Theory and Evolution
Speaker: Professor Alexander Bird, the University of Bristol
Date: Wednesday 25th May
Time: 7:30pm
Venue: The Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea
Admission: Free, all welcome
In this talk, Professor Bird will explore how the evolution of cooperative and altruistic behaviour is a puzzle, since it does not seem to advantage the individual. He will also discuss how altruistic genes could spread and look at how evolutionary theorists and philosophers of biology have used game theory to shed light on such conundrums.
