The new suite at the University’s College of Human and Health Sciences will give students studying Paramedic Science courses, a state of the art facility with teaching spaces and practical learning stations.

Mr Gething said: “This year the Welsh Government funded an extra 58 paramedic training places, a significant increase. We are committed to training the next generation of health professionals to meet the needs of patients across Wales, and this new suite provides state-of-the-art facilities to develop our trainee paramedics”.

Professor Ceri Phillips, Head of the College of Human and Health Sciences, added: “This event represents the accumulation of many years of effort and energy by our paramedic staff to provide students with a quality educational experience that equips them for the key roles that they fulfil within the health service. It also marks the commencement of a new, significant phase of expanded paramedic education within Wales and the UK, building on the confidence placed in us by NHS Wales Workforce Education and Development Services - the commissioners of health professionals’ education in Wales – to develop paramedics that will be major contributors to the health service of the future”.
