Swansea University’s Mental Wealth Society has recognised this month’s World Mental Health Day with a “Helping Hand” event.
The event involved students placing their handprint on a large banner with paint, inside Fulton House. The next day, the banner was put up on the balcony outside Fulton House.
The event included fundraising for local charity, Swansea Mind. Members of the Mental Wealth Society got involved by offering talks about mental illnesses to students, explaining what services the University has to offer, and showing other students what to do.
The event was successful, raising £200 for Swansea Mind, helping raise awareness about mental illnesses and contributing to the fight to end any stigma attached.
