How will I study

Although the emphasis throughout this six year programme is on developing you to become an independent researcher you  will be supported through  this process by two academic supervisors. In addition,  you will be expected to attend two core/ compulsory modules. These include. An ‘Introduction to Work-Based Research in Professional Practice’ which will be undertaken in year one, and ‘Planning Work-Based Research’ which will be undertaken in year two. Each module will consist of two, three-day study blocks which will comprise of lectures, discussion groups, seminars and inter-active learning sessions. At the end of each module there will be two work-based assignments and on successful completion 30 credits will be awarded for each module. Candidates may also access other modules elsewhere in the University if deemed appropriate by their academic supervisors.
