Finding a place to live is one the most important aspects of starting University. Let us help you with advice and information on locating that "perfect" spot to live and study.
When you are offered a place as a postgraduate student, you will be contacted by the Postgraduate Admissions section who will advise you how to apply for accommodation. The process is fairly simple and based on a first-come, first-served policy. Every effort is made to offer you a preferred choice, however, no guarantees of specific accommodation can be given in advance.
A good range of accommodation is available for new postgraduate students, with first priority normally given to overseas students. In order to ensure that as many new students as possible can be assisted, university accommodation is not normally available for students who have studied for their first degree at Swansea, though such students can obtain assistance in looking for private-sector accommodation.
All University accommodation for postgraduate students is in furnished self-catering properties, located within a 2 mile radius of the campus. The University offers a choice of accommodation for each category of Postgraduate student. For more detailed information, visit Residential Services.
Eligibility for university accommodation is as follows:
Places in university residence are guaranteed to new overseas postgraduates who
have been formally offered a place and have sent confirmation to the Accommodation Office of their intention to study at the University by the end of July.
