All three Departments within the School - Computer Science, Maths and Physics - received the top 4* and 3* ratings in the latest Research Assessment Exercise, meaning that they all produce research  which is world-leading or internationally excellent in terms of its originality, significance and rigour.

Postgraduate Research Degrees

Research programmes are funded by the research councils, government agencies and a variety of industries.  The School offers MRes, MPhil and PhD opportunities to suitably qualified graduates. 

Scholarships and Bursaries 

Some of the above courses are supported with scholarships that cover tuition fees and in some cases provide additional living expenses. Please check with the individual department for details.
