HR Team wins UHR 2016 Equality and Diversity Award

Swansea University's Human Resources Team has won the Equality and Diversity category in the 2016 Universities Human Resources Awards for its gender sensitive approach to the recruitment of support roles at the Bay Campus. 

It provided an opportunity to align the recruitment with Swansea's ambition to move to a values-based recruitment process, and a unique chance to address gender segregation in the workforce amongst traditionally occucpied posts.

Sian Cushion, Swansea University Associate Human Resources Director has won the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2016 Womenspire Awards.

The awards celebrate the amazing achievements being made by women across Wales and ensures that the winners are reflective of achievements being made by women from all walks of life.

Chwarae Teg CEO Joy Kent: 'It is important to increase the visibility of women's achievements and contributions to Welsh life so that others will be inspired to follow. We think the saying, you can't be what you can't see has a lot of truth in it.'

HR Excellence in Research Award

Swansea University holds the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award in recognition of our commitment to the Career Development of Research staff. We recognise the crucial contribution researchers make to our internationally excellent and world leading research.

The University first won the award in 2010 and has successfully retained it in 2013 and 2015, we will be submitting our 2017 application in December 2016.
