At present only students studying the Higher Diploma in Counselling Practise are entitled to apply for this fund. If an award is approved, the money will be paid directly to Swansea University to set against your fee liability.

Financial Contingency Fund
Part time students who are studying a minimum of 60 credits within a structured course are also able to apply to the Financial Contingency Fund.
The Welsh Assembly Government provides discretionary funds which aims to help students who have costs due to unforeseen circumstances and who may not be able to afford to continue their study because of these difficulties.
The Fund is able to give non repayable grants to students. However, it is expected that students have taken out their maximum student funding entitlement and have explored other means of helping themselves, such as finding part-time or vacation work, applying careful budgeting and using savings and student overdrafts. Eligibility to apply does not guarantee an award will be made.
Please note students are only eligible to apply once they have enrolled on their university program of study.
