Health Informatics at Swansea University Medical School
Our vision is to create a world-class centre in population data science research, training and development through powerful, robust, state-of-the-art data linkage and analysis facilities.
Swansea University Medical School has a strong reputation in Health Informatics, and has a track record of over 20 years on information system research and development, information standards, and public health analyses.
We are based in the six storey purpose-design Data Science building located at Singleton Park Campus. The building provides a state-of-the-art research environment for interdisciplinary innovation, allowing researchers and staff from a range of organisations to work together on cutting-edge data science while protecting privacy. The work within the building focuses strongly on public engagement to ensure that the benefits of this type of research are acceptable and visible.
The £8 million building was made possible by the funding from the Medical Research Council (MRC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Welsh Government. Read more
