Clinical Research

A dedicated clinical unit undertaking patient research with novel medicines and devices currently encompassing studies in most therapeutic areas from Phases II – IV with potential for Phase I.

The unit is complemented by a research scientist, highly trained research managers and a team of dedicated research nurses and administrative staff who manage projects for local investigators.

Being a preferred research site for a number of pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations ensures we have a varied and busy workload and wide expertise.

Research Facilities

Two state of the art dedicated clinical areas. One based in ILS 2 (7 bedded) and one the CRU at Morriston hospital (6 bedded). Both are well equipped, one includes telemetry and bedside monitoring.  Both have a dedicated laboratory for sample handling and storage to -80.

With good access to patients across most disease areas we are able to offer timely recruitment into studies and meet target recruitment numbers with a track record of 1st patient globally and 1st patient in Europe.
