On Tuesday 19th July, Swansea University Medical School held its Summer Graduation events. In the afternoon the congregation gathered in the Great Hall for the ceremony, before heading to the Brangwyn Hall in the evening to celebrate the graduates achievements.
Graduates, family members and guests saw awards presented to the school’s most outstanding Genetics and Biochemistry undergraduates and newly-qualified medics from our Graduate Entry Medicine programme, who also read the Doctor’s Oath. This is the graduates pledge as they enter the medical profession to practice medicine honestly. As a gift from the school’s charity St David’s Medical Foundation, the medics were also presented with glass plates engraved with the oath.
Guest then enjoyed a musical performance by Côr Dathlu Cwmtawe Male Choir, before finishing the celebration with a delicious evening meal. Photographs of the award winners and highlights from the celebration can be found on our Flickr gallery.
Congratulations to all of the 2016 Medical School’s graduates and we wish them all every success in their future careers.
