The Medical School is home to a range of undergraduate programmes specialising in Medical Sciences, Biochemistry and Genetics, delivered in state-of-the-art facilities including the Institute of Life Science.
Our BSc courses have an outstanding employability ethos as well as student satisfaction record - in the 2015 National Student Satisfaction (NSS) Survey, students recorded 100% overall satisfaction for Genetics.
Building on this success, we offer a range of MSci programmes in Genetics and Biochemistry in addition to the BSc programmes. These advanced undergraduate degrees add a further research-focused year to the current three-year BSc programmes, with specialist training in a broad range of laboratory techniques and an intensive year-long advanced research project.
Swansea University Medical School is growing its portfolio of undergraduate programmes to meet tomorrow's science and healthcare challenges. In September 2016 we launched a new programme; BSc Applied Medical Sciences, with a Foundation Year option available from September 2017. It has been designed to meet the skills gap identified by the Royal Society of Biology, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and the Department of Business Innovation and Skills.
Some of our undergraduate programmes offer a pathway through to an interview for the Graduate Entry Medicine programme; please see course pages for details.
