How do I apply?
With only 70 places available each year, competition for the Graduate Entry Medicine Programme is fierce. That said, all applications are scrutinised and considered on their own merits
Selection is based upon three main factors:
- assessment of your UCAS application form, which includes your academic achievements, personal statement and academic referee’s report
- your GAMSAT score
- performance at interview
Because of the three elements involved, the application process can seem quite long. Rest assured, though, that we use this time very wisely to delve into each and every application. Should your UCAS form and GAMSAT result meet our requirements, you will then be invited for an interview here at Swansea. See the section on How we decide for more details on what to expect.
Applications are made a year in advance of intended study so if you plan to commence the Programme in 2012, you must sit the GAMSAT in September 2011 and apply through UCAS before 15th October 2011. Only those who have gained (or are predicted to gain) a 2.1 or above from their last degree as well as a satisfactory GAMSAT result are eligible to apply. See the section on Can I apply? for more details.
