Professor Steven Cook (pictured) from Swansea University’s School of Management has delivered an invited address at the inaugural session of a national seminar series for the teaching of Economics.
Professor Cook’s presentation was delivered as part of The Economics Network Ecuator Seminar Series, held at the University of East Anglia earlier this week (Tuesday, January 19), where he spoke about his advances in the teaching of econometrics, a branch of economics involving the use of mathematical and statistical techniques in the analysis of economic phenomena.
Professor Cook said: “It was an honour to be invited to present at the first session in The Economics Network Ecuator series, and to have the opportunity to share my work into the teaching of econometrics at Swansea’s School of Management with the Higher Education Economics community throughout the UK and worldwide. I was very pleased to receive very complimentary feedback on my address from audience members.”
The invitation followed previous repeated national recognition for Professor Cook’s innovative approach to teaching, which has included funding from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and receipt of the HEA UK Outstanding Teaching Prize in Economics award.
