Swansea University will pause for a two-minute silence at 11am on Friday 11 November to mark Armistice Day and reflect on the sacrifices made by brave service men and women.

Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day, marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.

Armistice Day will be commemorated at Swansea University with remembrance services organised by the Students’ Union. Services will be held on both campuses, outside Fulton House and outside the Great Hall on the Bay Campus. Proceedings will begin at 10.50am.

Academic staff are asked to delay the start of their 11am lectures and classes to accommodate this brief ceremony.
