The seventh Nano4Life conference will take place on Thursday, June 18, at Swansea University, jointly hosted by the Centre for NanoHealth (CNH) and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN).

Supported by the British Society for Nanomedicine and MediWales, the event is part of the Welsh Festival for Innovation and will provide a forum with the latest updates on the developments that nanotechnology and other enabling technologies are delivering within the health and life sciences industries.

steve conlan‌Professor Steve Conlan (pictured), founding director of the Centre for NanoHealth, said: “The event aims to identify current challenges and opportunities in the R&D pipeline for commercial and clinical success.

“It will also provide excellent networking opportunities, with presentations from industry, leading clinicians and academics working in nanotechnology and emerging technologies for health and life sciences, as well as organisations supporting collaborations and innovation.”

The event will focus on medical devices and diagnostics, regenerative medicine and nano-therapeutics. It is aimed at academics, clinicians, entrepreneurs and companies with an interest in the application of nanotechnology – and other enabling technologies – to solve health, care and life science challenges.

Dr Gabriela Juarez Martinez, Knowledge Transfer Manager at the KTN, added: “Individuals and organisations with an interest in medical devices, diagnostics, imaging, sensors for health, nanoparticle-based targeted drug delivery, nanoformulation, and biomaterials/scaffolds for regenerative medicine and drug discovery will benefit from attending.”

Presentations will include challenges and opportunities for collaboration from clinicians and industry, technology pitches, national and international funding opportunities, and a panel discussion on support for innovation and on strategies to grow and strengthen the UK Nanomedicine Community.

Delegates will also have the option of attending a pre-event reception on Wednesday, June 17, when they will be able to take a tour of the Centre for NanoHealth and peruse a Research Poster Display area, which will take place in one of Swansea University Medical School’s research buildings, Institute of Life Science 2.
