Uni scores highly again for quality of life

SWANSEA University has scored highly in another student guide – this time for quality of life and good value accommodation.

The annual Lloyds Bank Quality of Student Life survey marked Swansea 14th out of all UK universities based on areas such as course satisfaction, employment and earnings of graduates, social life and sports facilities.

Private rented rooms in the city were the least expensive in the survey at an average annual cost of £2,250 ‑ the most expensive were £7,000 at the London School of Economics.

And Swansea’s university owned accommodation came second in its category at an average of £2,500 a year.

The university was ranked seventh for best student social life.

Loughborough University topped the overall list. Bath was second with Durham third.

  • Ranked in the top 500 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings; and
  • In the top 20 in the UK for student employability in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey.
