It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas at Swansea University where staff and students are inviting people to join a special carol service. The Service of Nine Lessons and Christmas Carols is in aid of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Time: 7.00 pm

Date: Thursday, 5th December

Venue: The Hive, Fulton House

Reverend Nigel John, university chaplain, said: “We would love for people to come along and join with staff and students for this carol service. Admission is free but there will be a voluntary collection on the night with all the proceeds going to the St Vincent de Paul Community in the Philippines working with the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

“We held a voluntary collection at our Theology Public Lecture on November 11 for the same charity and raised over one thousand pounds.

“We are hoping that people will be willing to show their support again at the carol service and also stay with us after the carols have finished to enjoy some mince pies and mulled wine.”
