Swansea welcomes this year’s new international students
Hundreds of new International students from all over the world were given a warm Welsh welcome this weekend, at a Reception jointly hosted by Swansea University and the City and County of Swansea.

The event was a highlight of the annual International Welcome and Orientation Weekend for international students which took place from 23rd to 25th September.
Students were also able to enjoy the September sunshine with trips to Gower and to the National History Museum at St Fagan’s on Sunday ahead of the Reception.

Organised jointly by the International Student Advisory Service, the International Development Office and the Students Union, the International Welcome and Orientation Event takes place at the start of each academic year and aims to ensure the smooth transition of international students to Swansea, and the University way of life.
About 250 students used a meet and greet coach service from Heathrow to Swansea University and attended the University Welcome Fayre in a huge marquee erected on campus for the weekend and the whole of Freshers' Week.
