Swansea University hosts IBM ‘Smarter Planet Comes to You’
IBM and local business partners will visit the Swansea University campus on Thursday 17 March 2011 as part of the ‘Smarter Planet: Smarter Skills’ tour of Europe.

‘The Smarter Planet Comes to You’ initiative aims to encourage young people to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics-based subjects and, as importantly, to ensure that students take advantage of the opportunities available (at home and abroad) to develop the ‘smarter skills’ that they will require to succeed in a wide range of careers.
The day event will include up to 40 different activities including: Smarter Planet ‘demonstrations’; ‘meet the expert’ sessions; and a fun ‘gaming’ zone for all to enjoy between lectures and seminars.
The tour, which began in February 2011, will include 24 Universities across Europe; including Swansea University.
