    New ILS BioBreakfast Series 2011 – inaugural event

    Swansea University’s College of Medicine is pleased to announce its inaugural BioBreakfast will take place at the Institute of Life Science (ILS) on Thursday 24th February 2011.


    Theme: Drug development and supply chain management

    Speaker: Hedley Rees, Biotech Pharmaflow

    Time: From 7.30am to 9.00am

    Venue: Institute of Life Science (ILS), College of Medicine, Swansea University

    Admission: The ILS BioBreakfast events are primarily aimed at individuals and organisations active in Wales in the life science and healthcare sectors. Admission free, all welcome.


    Speaker biography:

    Hedley Rees is a practicing consultant, coach and trainer, operating through his company Biotech PharmaFlow. He helps mature and emerging companies build, manage and improve their clinical trial and commercial supply chains. Prior to his time at Biotech Pharmaflow, Hedley held senior supply chain management positions at Bayer, British Biotech, Vernalis, Johnson & Johnson and OSI Pharmaceuticals.

    He holds an Executive MBA from Cranfield University School of Management and is a corporate member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS). He is also a member of UK BIAs Manufacturing Advisory Committee and regularly speaks at international conferences.

    He has publications in US and EU pharmaceutical journals and is co-chair of the FDA/Xavier University sponsored Global Outsourcing Conference 2011 in Cincinnati.

    He is also the author of "Supply Chain Management in the Drug Industry: Delivering Patient Value for Pharmaceuticals and Biologics."


    The ILS BioBreakfast Series 2011 will run on the third Thursday of each month, from 7.30am to 9.00am and each event will be themed. 

    Hot drinks, juices and a selection of breakfast dishes will be served in ILS’s Cafe Glas from 7.30am, with the business of the day starting in the Seminar Room at 8.00am. There will be a 15-20 minutes talk/presentation from the guest speaker, followed by a Q&A session and general feedback and discussion.
