Connecting Older People, Carers and Care Organisations: Fourth Knowledge Exchange Seminar Series

On Friday, December 9, the fourth seminar series of the Knowledge Exchange Project (KEP) Care in Business will be held, focusing on connecting older people, carers and care organisations.

The Care in Business project is led by Swansea University in partnership with Glyndwr, Bangor, Cardiff and Glamorgan Universities, focusing on Assisted Living, Care and New Technologies.  The KEP has been supported by EU convergence funding.

The project aims to create a shared vision of care and explore how new technologies and emerging trends in the ICT sector can be exploited innovatively to meet both care and carer needs.

Speaking about the fourth seminar series, Dr Sarah Hillcoat-Nallétamby from Swansea University’s Centre for Innovative Ageing said: “Through this project we are learning about the aspiration of carers and older people to be treated as active rather than passive consumers in both the design and consumption of products and services.

"We are already working to develop distinct product ideas as a result of our first few seminars so we are excited about this next event where we can continue to explore new innovations within an increasingly important and growing market.”
