Access to Higher Skills - Networking Event

A Networking Event for SMEs and organisations wishing to access the high level skills of our excellent postgraduate students has been organised for Tuesday 6th December 2011 at The Civil and Computational Lecture Theatre, College of Engineering, Swansea University between 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

Under our two European Social Fund projects – Access to Masters (ATM) and the Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS) our focus is to boost the skills in key sectors identified by the Welsh Government.

    These key sectors are:

    • Creative industries

    • Information, Communication and Technology (ICT)

    • Energy and Environment

    • Advanced materials and manufacturing

    • Life Sciences

    • Financial and Professional services

The aim is to introduce our 2011 cohort of students at this event and provide the opportunity to network and discuss project requirements with our commercial and academic colleagues at the University. We envisage that this type of event will draw out specific opportunities including those areas of technology where collaboration with the university and access to our high calibre students is most likely to create new innovations/ new and improved services and products.

The programme for the event includes informative talks by ATM and KESS Project Managers and the Industrial Liaison Officer about Access to Masters and Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships and the commercial interface.

If you would like to attend the networking event please register your attendance in advance by emailing Mrs Nerys Jameson N.W.James@swansea.ac.uk

For more information about the two projects please contact Beverley Guess, Industrial Liaison Officer, School of Engineering.Tel: 01792 513460 Email: B.M.Guess@swansea.ac.uk
