Work Experience and Study Abroad Placement Fair

The International Exchange and Partnership Office in the Academic Registry have organised a Work Experience and Study Abroad Placement Fair for all Swansea University students.

The fair will take place on Thursday October 16 in Dining Room B, Fulton House at 1pm.

Representatives from GO Wales, IT Wales, the Student Union Erasmus Society and the International Exchange and Partnership Office will be on hand to answer students’ questions relating to studying abroad and gaining work experience both abroad and in the UK.

    Australian Beach

The fair is a chance for students of all levels to find out about opportunities to study or work abroad during their degrees.

Swansea university has exchange agreements with universities throughout Europe and in Australia, Canada, China (Hong Kong), New Zealand and the USA.  Some links are subject specific, but others are open to any degree subject.

Visitors to the event will be able to talk to Swansea students who have already studied abroad and to overseas students currently in Swansea as a result of these exchange agreements.   Visitors will also be able to talk to students who have done work experience placements abroad and here in the UK.

Professor Iwan Davies, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Internationalisation and External Affairs) said: “The benefit to students of a period of work or study abroad is now well recognised.  They return more confident, self reliant and with a better understanding of other cultures; all qualities which are highly valued by employers.

“Swansea University is aiming to give all students the opportunity to work or study abroad as part of their degree.   I’m delighted that this fair, the first of its kind and a joint collaboration between the Academic Registry and Careers will highlight to students the range of international exchange and work experience opportunities available to them.”
