University forum launched to support Swansea business
A new forum that aims to help local business benefit from academic knowledge and advice will be launched by Swansea University's Research and Innovation Department this week.
The University Business Forum – or 'Uni-Bus' – will hold its first meeting at 6.00pm on Thursday, January 10, in the Computational Conference Centre, on the ground floor of the University's Talbot Building.
The first forum, which asks What's Your Problem? will allow participants to discuss ways that academia and other bodies can actively support local businesses in becoming more successful.
Tim McCaffrey, Programme Manager at the University's Research and Innovation Department, said: "We actively want to build even stronger links with the local business community. And at this, our launch forum, we will explore sources of help and advice local businesses can access not only via the University, but also through the public sector.
"As well as representatives from the University, the Forum will also feature guest speakers from external bodies such as International Business Wales, IT Wales, and Environwise, offering participants a chance to listen to case histories, question the speakers, and network with each other."
If you would like to attend the first Uni-Bus Forum, which is supported by the Knowledge Exploitation Fund, please contact Tim McCaffrey on +44 (0)1792 513707, or email: ask@uni-bus.co.uk.
