    The Hague/Amsterdam conference marks the ICC's 5th anniversary

    A conference on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Entry into Force of the Rome Statute

    Swansea University's School of Law and the University of Amsterdam's Center for International Law have organised a conference on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the entry into force of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The conference will take place in The Hague/Amsterdam on 4-5 October 2007.

    The conference will be held in cooperation with the Grotius Center for International Legal Studies, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research.

    It will explore four major themes related to the emerging practice of the Court:

    ·   The relationship of the ICC to domestic jurisdictions;
    ·   Prosecutorial policy and practice in the context of the first situations and cases;
    ·   The interpretation and application of the Court's statutory instruments; and
    ·   The fairness and expeditiousness of proceedings before the Court.
