Swansea University at the 2008 Urdd Eisteddfod
Swansea University will be participating in this year's Urdd Gobaith Cymru National Eisteddfod in Conwy, from May 26 – 31.

This year's event will be held on Gloddaeth Isaf farm land at Glanwydden near Llandudno, and the University will have a stand on the field, or 'maes'.
Among the information available to visitors to the stand will be the University's new Welsh Language Prospectus for entry in 2009 – including information on courses from American Studies to Zoology – and general information about studying in Swansea.
Osian Rhys, Swansea University's Welsh Language Officer, said: "The University is developing Welsh-medium provision in many exciting subject areas and is increasing services for Welsh speakers.
"We also have more Welsh-speaking students than ever this year and we would encourage any potential students to visit the stand to find out more about what's on offer at Swansea."
The Urdd Eisteddfod is one of Europe's largest youth festivals, and is held is a different area of Wales every year. The festival is an important cultural event for Wales and it attracts around 15,000 competitors, 100,000 visitors, and a TV audience of one million people annually.
As well as a full programme of competitions in the main pavilion, there will be plenty of activities on the Eisteddfod 'maes' – with more than 200 stalls promoting products and crafts from Wales, plus all kinds of services, workshops and events including a the climbing wall, craft sessions, and science workshops.
