"The Sports Awards evening is a chance for us to celebrate this sporting prowess, through individual and team achievements this season."

Richard Lancaster, General Manager of the AU, added: "The AU awards are a tremendous opportunity for us all to look back on the successes of our sporting year. Sport is really moving fast here at Swansea, and opportunities such as the awards give us an opportunity to celebrate that. Our congratulations go to all this year's category nominees and winners."

The AU is responsible for many of the sporting activities at the University. It works to develop both competitive and non-competitive sport and to facilitate the development and achievement of its sports clubs.

It caters for the wide range of sports clubs, which vary from rugby, football, and netball, to water sports like sailing and sub-aqua, and martial arts including judo and tae kwon do.

Swansea University offers Sports Scholarships, worth £3,000 over the duration of a degree, which are awarded to talented young men and women who have the potential to become world-class.
