The event, from 12.30 until 4.30pm, will provide potential postgraduate students with opportunities to find out about the wide range of courses on offer in Swansea’s 10 academic Schools, talk to staff during department visits, and take a guided tour of the campus with student ambassadors.

Visitors will also be able to seek advice from Postgraduate Admissions and International Student Advisory Service staff and attend talks by the University’s Careers Centre and the UK’s official graduate careers support service, Graduate Prospects.

There will be a talk on postgraduate study from current students, and information will be available on postgraduate funding, including the 160 Taught Masters Bursaries and Research Scholarships offered by the University, which are worth more than £12,600 each a year.

One of the speakers is Gemma Barratt, 21, from Gloucestershire who is currently studying for her MA in Gender and Culture in the School of Arts.

She said: “It is a little daunting to speak in public, but Swansea is a wonderful place to study and the facilities here are great, so I am very happy to tell everybody about it.”

The University’s Postgraduate Recruitment Officer, Dr Caroline Coleman-Davies, said: “If you are thinking of undertaking further study at Swansea, then we would encourage you to attend the Open Day to find out more about the wide range of courses and opportunities available.

“The University has a vibrant postgraduate student community, with dedicated facilities on campus. And combined with the spectacular location on Swansea Bay and a great quality of life, it really does have something offer everyone.”
