Dr Alex Stevens is Senior Researcher at the European Institute of Social Services, School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, University of Kent. He has published on the use of evidence in drug policy, including the UK Drug Policy Commission’s Analysis of UK Drug Policy, which he co-authored with Peter Reuter, and papers on the over-estimation of drug-related crime in policy debates.
He also led QCT Europe, a European-funded, six-country research project on treatment for drug dependent offenders and has recently completed a project, called Early Exit, on early retention in treatment for the Department of Health.
