Are you looking for somewhere quiet to study? Do you need to find a space to work together in a group? Do you need to use a PC?
In order to cater for differing learning styles, the Library and Information Centre (LIC) is divided into different study zones. Our floor plans pages will tell you where each study area is.
A group study area can be found on the right hand side of the Study Hall on Level 3 West (near the Costa Coffee pod).

Silent study areas can be found on Level 1 West, Level 2 West; Level 2 East, Level 3 East and Level 4 East (the Law Library).

A quiet PC area can be found on Level 4 West.

Silent PC areas can be found in PC rooms 2 and 3 on Level 4 West. Please note that these rooms can only be used when they are not being used for teaching - check the list on the door.
If you have any problems finding somewhere quiet to study you can ask at the Information Desk to be directed to a silent study area. If you find that other users are making unreasonable levels of noise, report the problem at the Information Desk and a member of staff can ask them to be quiet or to move to the group study area.
Computing Facilities in the LIC
Over 400 Open Access PCs (PCs which can be used by any student) are situated within the LIC. These PCs can be found in the Study Hall on West Levels 3 and 4. Check out our Student Computing page for more information about computing facilities.

Laptop Loan and Open Access Computing Facilities across campus
If you find that the PC area is too busy and you are unable to find a PC to use you can borrow a laptop for use at home or in the library. Ask at the Issue Desk for details about this. There are power sockets to plug in laptops in most study areas. There are also other PC areas on campus where you can use an open access PC:
