Our Athens service provides you with a single username and password that can be used to gain access to digital resources such as online journals and scholarly online databases.
It is vitally important that you keep the details of your login confidential and do not permit any third party to gain access to it. The first time you use the Athens service you will be asked to read and agee to a set of terms and conditions detailing acceptable use. To view these conditions now please click here.
From July 2011 your username and password to access the Athens service will be the same as the details you use to login to your university e-mail.
e.g. 123456@swansea.ac.uk or j.bloggs@swansea.ac.uk
If you are using a computer off campus or a staff computer within the university or if you first used the Athens service before July 2011 you will need to set the Athens service cookie on your machine to ensure you are directed to the new Swansea University login page. You can set this cookie by clicking here. You should only need to set the cookie once on each computer that you use.
