Mr Richard S. Leonard-Davies

Profile   

Richard has a keen interest in commercial law and property law having trained and qualified with Geldards LLP, one of the UK’s leading regional commercial law firms. He specialised in Property Law and Secured Lending following his qualification as a solicitor.

He is currently module leader for, and lectures on, the compulsory module in Professional Conduct & Regulation on the Swansea Legal Practice Course (LPC). Richard also leads seminars in the core modules of Property Law & Practice, Business Law & Practice and Solicitor's Accounts. In addition, he is module leader for, and lectures on, the Employment Law & Practice elective module on the LPC.

During his time at the School of Law, Richard has led seminars in the Equity & Trusts module on the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and has designed and delivered both lectures and seminars on Comparative Company Law as part of the LLM Taught Masters programme. He is also involved in the delivery of CPD courses, including the Professional Skills Course, the compulsory course for trainee solicitors.

Richard is responsible for co-coordinating Pro Bono activities and overseeing the use of Information Technology on the Swansea LPC.

 

Academic/Employment Background

Richard read Law at Cardiff University and achieved a First Class Honours Degree in 2002. He was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Commendation from Cardiff University in 2003 and was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2005 upon qualifying with Geldards LLP. He joined the School of Law at Swansea University in August 2007.
