Dr Leloudas interviewed on Bloomberg TV on the Germanwings accident

Dr. George Leloudas, a senior lecturer at the Department of Postgraduate Legal Studies and member of the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL), was interviewed on the Bloomberg TV based in USA with regard to the liability and insurance issues emerging from the most recent Germanwings plane crash in France killing all 150 on board.

leloudasDr. Leloudas was invited to the programme due to the fact that he is one of the leading experts in the field. Dr Leloudas obtained his LLM degree in Air and Space Law from the Institute of Air and Space Law of McGill University and his PhD degree in air law with emphasis on liability and insurance at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. Before joining the IISTL, Dr Leloudas worked as a Solicitor at Gates and Partners in London for several years where he advised on aerospace liability and airlines’ regulatory matters. He was also an assistant to the legal counsel of the International Union of Aviation Insurers (IUAI) providing support in relation to the Montreal Conventions 2009.

His principal research interest is the carriage of passengers and goods by air, but his interests extend to multimodal transport, insurance law and tort law. He is an active researcher and his most recent article that is entitled ʻ“Door to door” application of the international air law conventions: commercially convenient, but judicially dubiousʼ is due for publication in the August 2015 issue of Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly. He is also co-author of a book together with Professor Malcolm Clarke of Cambridge University on Air Cargo Insurance. This book will be released by Informa Law from Routledge in 2016. Dr. Leloudas is a contributing editor to Shawcross and Beaumont on Air Law.
