Law & Literature Colloquium - 6-8 July 2007

Rights, Ethics, Law and Literature International Colloquium

This international colloquium, hosted by the School of Law and organised by Professor Melanie Williams and Dr Bebhinn Donnelly, attracted 30 speakers with plenary sessions delivered by Professor Richard Weisberg (Cardozo School of Law) and Professor Desmond Manderson (McGill University).

Delegates enjoyed a diverse programme, with streams examining issues surrounding ‘rhetoric and narrative’, gender, history, politics and children’s literature. The colloquium facilitated a rich exchange of ideas amongst scholars of Law and Literature from a wide range of legal traditions and also offered delegates the opportunity to explore the literary heritage of Swansea and Wales.
