The Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law enjoys a very close relation with the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and we have organised several joint events in the past in the realm of air law.

This led to an invitation from the RAeS to Associate Professor Leloudas and 5 Swansea LLM students (Richard Rio, Thibaut Mottie, Hao Wu, Navin Dhillon and Renan Tres-De-Carvalho-Paiva) to its Air Law Summer Lecture on 26th June. The lecture was delivered by Desmond T. Barry  Jr, senior partner of Condon & Forsyth, and focused on the “September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks and Litigation Aftermath”.

The lecture was followed by the Summer Reception of the RAeS which provided an opportunity to meet and network with the elite members of the legal and aviation sectors.

Speaking after the event Dr George Leloudas, Associate Professor at Swansea University, said: “Our teaching is geared towards practice at Swansea and we enjoy close connections with the RAS and legal profession. It is very pleasing to see our students getting a  tangible benefit from this close association that we with practice. I was also delighted to see our students making contacts at the reception and generally enjoying themselves.”
