Professor Peter Raynor of the College of Law and Criminology delivered a keynote lecture, invited by the Japanese Ministry of Justice, at the World Congress of Probation which took place in Tokyo from the 12th to the 14th of September.
The World Congress is held every two years and brings together around 500 leaders of probation services from over 40 countries worldwide, making it the world's largest forum in it's field. For the event, Japan welcomes policymakers, practitioners and researchers involved in probation and community corrections from across the globe. By bringing together leading minds in these fields, the congress aims to promote and develop probation and community corrections by sharing practical and academic knowledge, as well as broadening global networks.
While at the World Congress, Professor Raynor delivered a lecture (pictured) and also met with the Minister of Justice, the Honourable Yoko Kamikawa.
