Professor Anthony Sebok delivering his lecture
Following student presentations, Professor Anthony Sebok, who recently joined the College of Law as a Distinguished Research Professor of Private Law, from Cardozo Law School in New York City delivered a lecture on ‘Thinking Like a Lawyer Versus Thinking Like a Banker--The law and ethics of litigation finance in the US and the UK’. Professor Sebokhaspublished widely on mass torts, litigation finance, comparative tort law, and legal philosophy. His lecture was very well received by the audience and fuelled an interesting debate on the ethical, legal and economic aspects of litigation finance in the USA and UK. The launch ended with a reception where the participants had an opportunity to talk to Professor Sebok as well as other key figures in the College.
Following the event Professor John Linarelli, Head of the College of Law, said: ‘We are privileged here at Swansea Law to be part of a world-class University that supports a world-class law school. Professor Sebok is the sort of globally recognised talent who are attracted to Swansea and we are very fortunate to have him on our staff. We look forward to a great future of research with him’.
