    Law School's Updates

    • Professor Andrew Tettenborn this week finishes his successful course at the University of Geneva entitled “Introduction au droit anglo-américain des contrats".
    • Professor John Linarelli, Head of School, attended the Qatar Law Forum held on 4-6 May 2012 in Doha Qatar. The Qatar Forum annually brings together global leaders in law, including chief justices, justices on international courts, prominent legal practitioners, and leading academics and regulators, to discuss commitment to the rule of law.
    • Karen Davies recently been confirmed as the "new regular contributor on Employment Law" for the Student Law Review, published by Routledge and have, to date, made two contributions to the Journal (‘Employee Rights: Protection from Unfair Dismissal’, January 2012 and ‘Determining Employment Status: Lady Justice Smith to the Rescue?’ April 2012.) Karen is also presently completing updates for the 5th Edition of her textbook 'Understanding European Union Law'(also published by Routledge), which should be published in time for the new academic year. In addition, she is continuing her collaborative work with Professor Gary Slapper and David Kelly on a number of English Legal System texts including ‘The English Legal System’ and ‘Q & A English Legal System’. Both are Routledge publications.

    • Professor Dennis Patterson (Swansea Law), along with co-authors Ari Afilalo (Rutgers University School of Law- Camden) and Kai Purnhagen, have posted Statecraft, the Market State and the Development of European Legal Culture on SSRN. The article has received a “highly recommended” commendation on Larry Solum’s Legal Theory Blog.
