I am local to Swansea and have been lucky enough to live on Gower from a very young age. Over the years I spent some time abroad visiting the Middle East and South East Asia mainly and also lived briefly in the Canary Islands prior to joining the university.
I joined Swansea University in 2004 working in various colleges across campus, gaining valuable experience across many aspects of university study along the way. An opportunity arose in 2013 to work within Law and Criminology to develop its work placement programme and to establish an Employability ethic within the college. Since then, our Employability and Placement programme has grown year on year and is one of the most successful in the university.
I am responsible for Employability, Placements and Regional Engagement for the College. I represent the College of Law and Criminology on the Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) Committee and am a member of the College’s Employability Committee. I am also the administrator for the Study Abroad programme within the college.
Working closely with students from LLB year 2 and above, I provide opportunities for work experience and internships both voluntary and paid across the legal sector. I manage placements in and around Swansea, Cardiff, London and internationally; these countries include Ireland, USA and the African continent.
