Innovative Sexuality Studies Consortium

Identifying social need in the context of sexuality

Launched in November 2015 with funding from the Big Lottery Innovation Fund, the Consortium researches sex work, sexual exploitation and sex and the life course. It is the first initiative in Wales to bring together academics, stakeholder organisations and policy-makers to identify social need in the context of sexuality and to develop solutions to meet identified need.

Activities include conferences, the development of research proposals, participatory action research, sexuality education and training, advocacy for beneficiaries and hard to reach groups to ensure the voices of community beneficiaries inform policy and law reform. The Consortium's innovative work The Student Sex Work Project combines research and service delivery.
