Placement Information for Companies

IT Wales offers you the opportunity to employ someone with specialist IT skills to complete a project, while working for your company for 6 to 10 weeks. The scheme is open to private, voluntary, and public sector organisations of any size as well as Charities and Social Enterprises.  By hosting a placement you can access the specialist IT and Computing and benefit from the expertise of a Student or Graduate.

Examples of typical roles of an IT Wales placement include:

  • Systems Analyst

  • Networking Administrator
  • Systems Tester

What The Scheme Provided

  • Funding towards salary costs - up to £1000. The company is required to pay the placee a minimum wage of £250 per week plus Employer's National Insurance Contributions
  • A choice of high quality Students & Graduates
  • People with specialist IT knowledge and skills that can add value to your business
  • Completion of a 6 to 10 week project
  • A chance to see if the company can benefit permanently from Graduate skills. 65% of placements resulted in permanent employment
