Accommodation vary on type of housing
Food/Meals $1,573 – $2,500 per semester, depending on individual plan
Personal expenses (e.g. laundry, sundries and local transportation) $1,500 per semester
Academic expenses (e.g. books)  $400 – $800 per semester + any special course fees

Cost of orientation programme: most of the activities are free of charge, except for room and board.

It is mandatory for international students (including exchange students) to have insurance. If students submit proof of insurance as good as or with higher levels of coverage that ISU's SSHIP
insurance, the student may be eligible for a waiver.


On campus accommodation is NOT guaranteed. The above charging rates are subject to annual review and revision. Not all residence halls require meal plans, but some do.

University-administered accommodation: charging rates for residence at (per semester per person). Multiple housing options - all with different costs associated.

All costs approximates, examples are:

  • 3/4-person Apartment Unit: $3400 per semester per person
  • 4 person suite-style Residence: $2930 per semester per person
  • Private Residence Hall Room: $3585 per semester per person

Global Opportunities Bursary - £1000

The Global Opportunities Bursary is available for students spending a semester or a year studying abroad outside of Europe as part of their degree (except Texas).

The International Development Office provides students with a £1000 bursary, once students have submitted all the necessary paperwork.
