Swansea University has been welcoming students from Hong Kong for decades. We have a thriving community of over 350 students from Hong Kong and our Chinese Society is active and growing.

Hong Kong Entry Requirements

Undergraduate Programmes: 

Candidates are expected to have achieved the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) with minimum scores of between 554 – 544 (for Engineering Courses you will need to have studied the Extended Mathematics elective as well as Compulsory Mathematics) and achieve a minimum of Grade 3 in HKDSE English Language or IELTS 6.0, with a minimum 5.5 in each sub score.

Equivalents of HKDSE to A-Level offers:
HKDSE 555 555/554 554 554/544 544 444

Postgraduate Programmes:

Successful completion of a relevant Bachelors degree from a recognised institution with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division (2.2) or CGPA 2.7 awarded with a IELTS 6.5 with 5.5 in each part of the test (or equivalent).

Swansea University offers a range of international scholarships to help the most talented and ambitious students to reach their potential. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, you must have submitted an application to study at Swansea University as you will need your student number to complete the scholarship form.
