Santander Partnership

Santander Universities network

Swansea University is part of the Santander Universities network, an international group of universities with three goals in common: internationalisation, transfer of knowledge, and fostering of entrepreneurial skills.

The partnership, established in 2014, enables the University to develop and strengthen collaborative links internationally as well as create new opportunities for staff and students.

The agreement, developed through the Santander Universities Global Division includes four scholarships for international students studying at Swansea University and 15 travel bursaries for Swansea staff and students to visit overseas universities which are also part of the network. There is also an entrepreneurial support fund for up to 20 new student start-ups and an internship scheme which places students with local small and medium sized companies, allowing them to gain valuable work experience.

Santander Global Partners

Through its Santander Universities Global Division, Santander has collaborated with universities in 20 countries for more than 15 years. The bank supports the Higher Education sector in such areas as teaching and research, international cooperation, knowledge and technology transfer, entrepreneurial initiatives, student mobility and innovation. This is a network where universities from all over the world can meet and engage in dialogue.

Santander Universities was introduced in the UK in 2007 and the bank is now collaborating with fifty-seven British Universities and Higher Education Institutions, with agreements focused on promoting international exchange, entrepreneurial activities and the mobility of students and researchers within the network.
